Shirley Martin
Shirley Martin 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 13, 2011. She was
born on Nov. 19, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to John and Naoma (VanZandt)
Ealy. Shirley was a member of New Horizons Band, the Indiana Symphonic
Band, Sister's in Song, Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and
was also an avid member of Garfield Christian Church. Survivors include
her son, Rick Simmons; daughter, Sherry Steinbach; three grandchildren;
four great grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Smith. Shirley was
preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Simmons; and sister, Gloria
Randel. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22
at Garfield Christian Church, 1751 Walker Avenue, Indianapolis, IN.
Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue
Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Memorial
