2017 Day of Enrichment-ARTISTS' RETREAT
"Developing and Delivering Spiritually Moving Performances"
April 1, 2017 at Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis
The main presenter was Doug Anderson formerly of Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, and now of Cana's Voice. Doug, who has won all or parts of 14 Dove Awards and has 2 Grammy nominations, shared his knowledge, perspective. and experience for this Artists' Retreat. One of Doug's key points was that, as an artist, you must "Know your WHY." That is, to truly understand why you do what you do and then build every element of your ministry around that purpose.
Many thanks to those who made it happen!
- Doug Anderson, for his graciousness in "giving back" to Gospel Music and IGMA!
- Matt Cookman, for accompanying Doug on guitar and so aptly demonstrating his prison ministry.
- Eric Shaw for bringing in and running the sound system.
- Ray Seaman for arranging for the Northside Baptist Church venue.
- Jim Thomas for arriving early to make coffee.
- Jeannette and Stan Pederson for arranging and delivering our Chick-Fil-A lunch, plus shopping for water, soda, and cookies.
- James Criss, His Voice Through Us, and Kristen Stanton for being willing to demonstrate in front of other artists-Whew!!
- Amos Plaster for video recording the event.
