Learn where to get publicity materials for promotional distribution and how to do more with far less resources! Get people in the seats and minister to them! Artists’ Retreat Extension – Doug Anderson will expand upon his recent popular Artists’ Retreat presentation. Artists who want to be effective at communicating the gospel message must go beyond picking the right songs, and putting them in an appropriate sequence. This seminar will delve into methods the artist can use to set up a song to make it more effective in communicating a song’s spiritual content and to increase the effectiveness of the total performance. Doug will share from his experience what works and just as importantly, what doesn’t work. Stage Presence – People hear what they see!– The audience is affected as much or more by the visual aspects of your performance as they are by the vocal aspects. Issues addressed will include stage fright, how to develop positive audience rapport, matching energy levels, the importance of facial expressions, visual focal points, movement and gesture, singing attire, and more. The presenter of this seminar will be Rich Treptow, former head judge of the Performance Judging Category of the 30,000-member Barbershop Harmony Society. Songwriting – This seminar will cover such things as lyric, meter, musical form, electronic helpers (Encore, Garage Band, Band-in-a-Box), copyrighting, royalties, and licensing organizations. Bring your notepad and a memory stick if you think you might like the Powerpoint presentation. The presenter of this seminar will be Bob Muncie, pastor, pianist, poet and songwriter. He started writing songs at 12 years of age, 49 years ago, and has written about 760 songs, including a song recently recorded by Mark Vice. Sound Reinforcement – Learn how to best use various types of microphones, sound boards, monitors, and speaker systems, as well as options for cueing accompaniment tracks. Find out how to prevent feedback and resolve hums, buzzes, crackling, and other undesirable sounds. Learn how to use equalization to solve sound problems and blend voices, as well as the proper use special effects (“FX”). You’ll gain practical advice from an experienced sound “techie,” Eric Shaw, of His Voice Through Us. Lists of Artists for Each ConcertThursday Night Friday Night Saturday afternoon
