Seminars & Speaker Information
"On the Road" Story Swap Time
Friday Only - 1:00 pm
One of the most popular "seminars" from 2019. Not technically a seminar, but it was full of laughs last Convention. This session allows all participating artists and fans to share humorous stories, compare notes, and fess up to what they've learned "the hard way!" Interesting, funny, and (voluntarily) embarrassing, these shared moments of learning experiences can provide catharsis!

"Each One Reach One in 2021"
by John King - Friday Only - 2:00 pm
Evangelism - How to use simple questions when dealing with the unsaved to produce surprisingly effective results in evangelism. Differing world views between the secular and spiritual worlds make this an excellent approach in the current postmodern environment. The class will be presented by John King, who holds a Master's Degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University.

Harmony Rehab: a 12-(half)Step Program
by RichTreptow - Friday only - 3:00 pm
Richard Treptow, former international adjudicator for the Barbershop Harmony Society and the ICCA (Intercollegiate A Cappella Association (think the movie, “Pitch Perfect”) takes you through the finer points of harmony singing. This seminar will include important (and not so obvious) principles of harmony singing, chord balancing, vowel migration, vowel matching through 16? vowel sounds, interchangeability of volume, energy, and vocal color, how intonation may be affected by what part of the chord you are singing, tips for voicing chords, and more. Come with a notepad!

Recording Studio Tips and Tricks
Saturday only - 2:00 pm
by Terry Stephens, Recording Engineer & Matt Cookman,
Producer & Recording Wizard (both multi-talented musicians)
What if you sing a wrong note? What if you're flat or sharp on a few notes? What if your balance is off? What can the recoding engineer do and what are the limits? Do we have to be in separate rooms? Isn't the blend better if we stand in our normal configuration? What about a "live recording" in front of an audience? What does a recording producer do? How well prepared do you need to be when stepping into a recording studio? Will he select or suggest certain songs after hearing the group? Will he change or suggest changes to the arrangement? Hire musicians and do orchestrations? Get your questions answered here!
