The 2025 IGMA "Fanfest" Convention Review

IGMA's 9th Annual Convention, the 2025 Indiana Gospel Music Association Fanfest Convention was held June 5th-7th in Columbus, Indiana. This year the convention featured Headliners on each of the three evenings. Former IGMA members Westward Road were the headliners on Thursday night, current IGMA members The Dave Melton Family Singers were the headliners on Friday night, and headlining on the final night was the nationally known and multiple Dove award winning trio Brian Free & Assurance.

For the ninth consecutive year, Pastor Ron Bridgewater and East Columbus Christian Church served as hosts for Fanfest, providing a warm and welcoming venue over the entire 3 day period.

This year featured another first time event, as radio station WYGS broadcast live from the convention site on Saturday afternoon right up to the start of the evening concert.

A Convention feature that is always popular with the IGMA artists was the Master Class conducted on Saturday afternoon by headliner, Brian Free & Assurance. Trio members Brian Free, Bill Shivers and Jake Anglin shared some of their precious "down" time prior to the evening concert to answer questions off-the-cuff for a solid hour. They were peppered with queries from our local artists concerning real-life issues that BFA deals with on a daily basis while living life on the road. That road life includes over 130 concerts in 2025 all over the U.S. for the Georgia based trio.
